Questions

Enrollment and Cards.

Documentation, genealogy, proving who you are.  Something no other ethnic group must do.  Copies of official records, birth certificates, bible records, census records, obituaries, wills and the list goes on..... Everyone must submit several types of documentation.

Enrollment Council meets quarterly to review requests and verify records that have been submitted, then recommendations are forwarded to Pee Dee Indian Nation Council for the final review process.  Cards are then printed and mailed to the individual.

What Issues Are Most Important

1) Health Problems that are considered common to Native American Indian People.

2) Employment Opportunities for Our People. A trend among many of the communities is lack of employment in 'good jobs'.

3) Education is also a front runner that needs our attention. Not only within schools but at the knee of our Elders.

4) Proper Housing in several Tribal Communities where there are many families sharing one home or the home is in disrepair.

Several Tribal Communities are working with us to tackle these issues. More news to come soon.

Who Are We?

We are families, descendents, and other members who have 'Pee Dee" Indian Heritage who settled between the Forks of The Edisto River in South Carolina.  We are not just one family but many people who have a historical connection.  We have called the "Four Corner" Communities (Neeses, North, Springfield and Salley) home for generations.

As the areas grew larger many descendents moved further south. They are still part of us as we are part of them.  We meet throughout the year and through the world of the Internet.  We continue to maintain our connections to our Spiritual Home and to each other.
